Translation memory stores segments in certain source language and their translations to certain target language. Each translation memory in AnyMem has a number of properties which can be configured by users.
To configure translation memory:
| • | On the Memory menu click Open |
| • | Browse for translation memory MEM file which must be configured. |
| • | On the Memory menu click Configure. This will open translation memory configuration window. |
The following translation memory configuration settings are available:
| • | General – general translation memory information, like source and target language, name of MEM file and its location, date of translation memory creation and its author, and notes. |
| • | Segment Rules – can be used to assign symbols, which should be recognized as those, separating segments in the source text. |
| • | Abbreviation list – enter any words, which must be considered as abbreviations by AnyMem. |
| • | Ordinal followers – improve segmentation rules by adding ordinal follower words which do not cause additional segmentation if preceded by a full stop character. |
| • | Matching rules – set up minimum match rate, required to consider the two segments as "matching" each other. |
| • | Colors – configure, which colors will determine different match rates in open segments, and markers in Document Source and Translation Memory fields. |
| • | Terminology Search – assign minimum match value for segments displayed in terminology search results. |
