You can import translation memory from a TMX 1.1 or TMX 1.4 standard translation memory exchange file.

 

arrowTo import translation memory from a TMX 1.1 or TMX 1.4 file:

On the Memory menu click Open.
Browse for target translation memory MEM file.
On the Memory menu click Import from TMX.
Browse for source TMX files, and double-click required file to select it.
Click OK button to begin import from selected TMX file.

 

TMX Import Settings

Settings for segments which already exist in translation memory:

Leave Unchanged – if target translation memory already contains same segment as source TMX file, the segment contained in target translation memory will be kept. This will only import new segments from source TMX file.
Keep Most Recent – if target translation memory already contains same segment as source TMX file, most recently created/updated segment will be kept.
Keep Oldest – if target translation memory already contains same segment as source TMX file, segment which has been created/updated earlier will be kept.
Merge – if both target and source of a segment match in translation memory and TMX file, text formatting of a segment in TMX file will be applied to segment in  translation memory file.
Overwrite – if target translation memory already contains same segment as source TMX file, the segment contained in TMX will be kept.

 

New Attributes and Text Fields settings:

Ignore – all new attributes and text fields in import source file will be ignored.
Add – all new attributes and text fields in import source file will be added.
