Translating with AnyMem

arrowTo begin translating right away:

1. Run AnyMem.

2. Position AnyMem and MS Word windows by clicking Window menu and selecting required screen occupancy proportions. See Window alignment topic for details.

3. Enable AnyMem toolbar by right-clicking MS Word toolbar, and selecting AnyMem in toolbars list. See AnyMem toolbar topic for details.

4. Connect to the document you are going to translate by clicking Document > Connect menu. See Document options topic for details.

5. Load appropriate translation memory, or create a new translation memory by clicking Memory > Open menu or Memory > New menu accordingly. See Preparing Translation Memory topic for details.

6. Begin translation by clicking button_translation_start button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window. See Translating with AnyMem topic for details.

7. Enter translation of the currently open segment and click button_next_segment button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

8. In case you receive error when trying to close segment, fix it by clicking Document > Fix menu.

9. To stop translation without saving currently open segment in translation memory, click button_interrupt_translation button.

10. Once translation has been finished, click Document > Finalize menu to remove source text from view and update TM with stored translation.

 

Importing, Exporting and Sharing Translation Memory

arrowYou can import your currently open translation memory to a TMX standard translation memory exchange format with the help of Memory > Import from TMX menu. See Import from TMX topic for details.

arrowAlternatively, translation memory can be imported from any bilingual MS Word file by clicking Memory > Import from file menu. See Import from file topic for details.

Document Analysis and Pretranslation in AnyMem

arrowTo scan document for matching segments, click Document > Analyze menu.

arrowTo automatically translate all high matching segments in a document using translation memory, click Document > Pretranslate menu.
