cubes24 Segment Rules

Top  Previous  Next

Basic segment rules are already entered in your AnyMem. By default AnyMem recognizes sentence, ending with full stop as a "segment". You can add rules, by which AnyMem determines how text segments must be separated. Use Segment Rules section of translation memory configuration window to enter characters which determine the end of previous segment and the beginning of the next one. Currently assigned segment rules are displayed in the list.

arrowTo add segment rule:

On the Memory menu click Open.
Browse for translation memory MEM file which must be configured.
On the Memory menu click Configure.
Click Segment Rules section.
Click New button.

The following rule options are available:

Rule name: enter name of the rule, which will be displayed in the list. It can be as long as 150 characters.
Stop character: enter the character which finishes a segment.
Leading Chars: enter number of characters (space is not considered as a character) which must precede Stop character in text, in order to trigger this rule.
Trailing WhiteSpaces: enter number of spaces which must follow the Stop character in text, in order to trigger this rule.
