1. Starting Translation

arrowTo begin translating with AnyMem:

On the Translation menu click Start. Alternatively, click button_translation_start button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.
This will bring up the file being translated and highlight the first segment right in MS Word document.
Enter translation of the segment into yellow field.
On the Translation menu click Next Segment or Previous Segment, to highlight next or previous segment. Alternatively, click button_next_segment and button_previous_segment buttons correspondingly on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

 

2. Inserting Translation from Memory, and Skipping Translation of a Segment

Some segments may not need to be translated. Also, you many need to paste a previously made translation from translation memory.

 

arrowTo forego translating current segment:

On the Translation menu click Get from Source when the segment in question is selected.

Alternatively, click button_get_from_source button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

 

arrowTo paste translation of current segment directly from translation memory:

On the Translation menu click Get from Memory when the segment in question is selected.

Alternatively, click button_get_from_memory button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

 

3. Searching Terminology Context

arrowTo search a certain word in context:

Select this word (or words) in the text.
Click button_terminology_search button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

You can also open Terminology search window by clicking menu Terminology > Search.

 

4. Interrupting and Finishing Translation

Interrupting translation will hide source and target highlight fields in the text of MS Word document.

 

arrowTo interrupt translation of currently open segment without adding translation to translation memory:

On the Translation menu click Interrupt.

Alternatively, click button_interrupt_translation button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

 

arrowTo finish translation of currently open segment:

On the Translation menu click Finish. This will close the currently open segment, and will store its translation in translation memory.

Alternatively, click button_finish_translation button on the AnyMem toolbar of MS Word window.

 

As you enter new translations, AnyMem will store them in translation memory. When you come across a new segment which resembles one of the previously translated segments, AnyMem will bring up matching translation. If more than one translation matches a segment, AnyMem will offer all available matching translations.
